We build the cold plunge for water from 2 to 15 °C.

This page describes what goes into a specification. It does not describe what contrast bathing does to the body; that is outside what a builder should claim.

It is a set of 2 or more rooms placed so a user can move between heat and cold in a short walk. In residential towers, villas, gyms and hotels across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Doha, the brief usually names the rooms, their capacity and the finish level, and leaves the engineering to the specialist contractor.

Three combinations cover most briefs we receive. The pair of sauna and cold plunge is the most common; hotels and larger gyms add a steam room or a snow room. The table lists them with the operating values we design for.

Five items: cabin size and capacity, heater output, a dedicated electrical circuit, fresh-air supply and exhaust, and wood species. Glass walls need more heater capacity; Harvia's rule is about 1.2 m³ of added volume for every m² of glass, stone or concrete. Our primary woods are ayous, thermo-ayous, aspen, thermo-aspen, pine and thermo-pine.

Basin size, target water temperature, chiller capacity and position, filtration, and drain and overflow. We build cold plunge pools for water from 2 to 15 °C. In the GCC the chiller position decides whether the plunge holds its set point on a hot day, so it needs shade, free air and 1 clear service route.

When the operator wants a dry cold option. GWI's 2025 hydrothermal trends describe an "Ice Bath Backlash" toward gentler options such as misting, snow rooms and cool-air spaces. A snow room runs at about −10 °C (TechnoAlpin) and needs its own refrigeration plant, so it is a 2027 decision for hotels more than for villas.

Between the sauna and the plunge in a wet trio. A steam room runs at 40–50 °C and close to 100 % relative humidity, so it needs waterproofing, a sloped ceiling and a floor drain, plus a steam generator sized to the room. It is the room that most often decides the slab and screed levels of the whole set.

Close enough to walk wet without crossing a dry corridor or a lift lobby. In most layouts we plan, the cold plunge sits within a few steps of the sauna door, with a shower between them. A rest area of at least 1 seat per expected user follows the cold room.

In Dubai, building works go through Dubai Municipality, fire and life safety through Dubai Civil Defence, and power and water through DEWA. In Abu Dhabi, the utility is TAQA Distribution. In Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the developer's consultant names the authority; we supply the technical details for 1 combined submittal.

GWI reports that wellness real estate grew 19.5% a year from 2019 to 2024 worldwide and that Middle East–North Africa wellness real estate grew 22.6% a year over the same period, with "rapid growth" in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. In practice, amenity floors in new towers and villa communities now list 2 or 3 thermal rooms as standard.
