Sauna Dekor is an infinity pool builder and turnkey pool contractor for hotels, resorts and private villas in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, manufacturing in Istanbul since 1987 and delivering projects in over 35 countries in our 40th year. An infinity edge is a structural and hydraulic decision before it is a visual one: the weir, the catch basin and the balance tank have to be sized together, and they have to be drawn before the shell is poured.
Transforming your backyard into a serene oasis is a dream many homeowners share. Infinity pools, also known as 'infinity edge,' 'disappearing edge,' or 'negative edge' pools, have become increasingly popular for their stunning visual appeal. These pools create the illusion that the pool water seamlessly merges with the surrounding landscape, often evoking a sense of infinity as the water seemingly stretches to the horizon. Infinity Pool Construction
Also known as 'infinity edge,' 'disappearing edge,' or 'negative edge' pools, infinity pools are celebrated for their ability to make the pool edge vanish, creating an illusion of merging with the surroundings. Elevating the allure of your outdoor space, our expert pool builders specialize in the construction of these visually stunning pools.
Our meticulous approach begins with a thorough examination of the designated area, where dimensions and excavation plans are meticulously drawn. Concrete application follows, accompanied by essential elements such as steel construction, electrical installations, and cutting-edge pool heating systems. The result? A flawless swimming pool installation that exceeds expectations.
With precision at every pour, the concrete sets the foundation for our meticulously crafted infinity pools. After patiently waiting for the mold to dry, we embark on the intricate process of balancing the area. This involves a seamless sequence of steps, including the application of screed, plaster, and insulation, ensuring a flawless canvas for our masterpiece. The final stroke of sophistication comes with the placement of ceramic, elevating the pool's aesthetic to luxurious heights. As lighting elements are delicately integrated, the pool transforms into a captivating spectacle, ready to enchant. Sauna Dekor Spa & Solutions takes pride in delivering not just a pool but an experience—a culmination of technical excellence and artistic finesse that transforms your space into an oasis of elegance.
Crafting an infinity pool demands technical knowledge and experience. Adhering to drawings is crucial, as is the precision in ceramic joint applications. Our commitment to these details ensures your infinity pool is not just a visual masterpiece but also free from future concerns such as leakage and cracking.
The materials selected for your project significantly influence the cost of your Infinity pool construction. At Sauna Dekor Spa & Solutions, we understand the importance of quality materials in enhancing both durability and aesthetics. Our Infinity pool construction experts guide you in selecting materials that align with your vision and budget.
As your trusted partner, Sauna Dekor Spa & Solutions provides a comprehensive range of services. An infinity pool has no coping on the display side. Water runs over a level weir into a catch basin below, and a pump returns it to the pool. Three numbers decide whether the effect holds: the weir must be level to within a couple of millimetres over its whole length, the catch basin must hold the volume that is in transit plus the surge when swimmers enter, and the return pumps must move enough water to keep a continuous film over the lip. Get any of them wrong and the edge either dries out in patches or floods the basin.
| Element | What it controls | Typical failure if undersized |
|---|---|---|
| Weir / edge level | Evenness of the water film | Dry patches, visible scalloping |
| Catch basin | Transit volume and bather surge | Overflow onto the terrace, pump starvation |
| Balance tank | Backwash and evaporation make-up | Level alarms, auto-fill running constantly |
| Return pumps | Film thickness and noise | Thin film, audible cascade, high running cost |
| Structure | Cantilever and lateral load | Movement cracks at the edge beam |
On a rooftop or a slope the edge beam is a structural element and has to be coordinated with the engineer before the shell is designed; on a villa terrace it is usually the wind that decides, since a strong cross-wind blows the film off the lip and empties the basin faster than the pumps replace it. Evaporation in a Gulf summer is high enough that make-up water and its chemistry have to be planned — the same reasoning that drives swimming pool design in Dubai. Circulation and turnover rates are covered in our note on water circulation in a pool, the maintenance regime in how to maintain a pool, and the alternative of bringing the pool inside in indoor pools.
Water flows over a level weir on the display side into a hidden catch basin, and pumps return it to the pool through the main circulation circuit. The illusion depends on the weir being level within a few millimetres, the basin being sized for the water in transit plus bather surge, and the return pumps keeping a continuous film over the lip.
It uses more pump energy, because the edge circuit runs in addition to the filtration circuit, and it loses more water to evaporation because of the larger exposed film area. Both are manageable if the edge circuit is sized correctly and put on a timer or variable-speed drive rather than left at full duty all day.
Yes, and both are common on our projects, but the edge beam becomes a structural item that has to be agreed with the project engineer before the shell is designed. Roof installations also need the catch basin, balance tank and plant room positions resolved early, because they take height and load that the structure has to be told about.
For a villa-scale pool inside an existing structure, 12–18 weeks from approved drawings to commissioning is realistic, covering shell, waterproofing, plant, finishes and water balancing. Hotel and rooftop projects are programmed against the building rather than the pool.
We work across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the wider GCC from our Istanbul manufacturing base, and have delivered pool and wellness packages in more than 35 countries since 1987.
