Updated: 14 October 2026
Alican Aykaç is Managing Partner of Sauna Dekor Spa Solutions, the Istanbul company that has designed, manufactured and installed saunas, steam rooms, Turkish hammams and spa facilities since 1987. In its 40 years the company has delivered 5,000+ projects in 35+ countries, from hotel spas in Istanbul and Doha to private villas in Dubai. Project enquiries and press questions go to Alican Aykaç as the company's named contact.
Who is Alican Aykaç?
Alican Aykaç is Managing Partner of Sauna Dekor, a manufacturer founded in Istanbul in 1987 that has delivered 5,000+ projects in 35+ countries. Alican Aykaç represents the company to hotel owners, contractors, designers and journalists, and writes under a personal byline about how saunas, steam rooms and hammams are specified and built.
Alican Aykaç joined Sauna Dekor in 2020, studied business and electronics engineering at Sabancı University, and today leads the company's projects in the Gulf.
Alican Aykaç's published work stays close to the building site. A buyer's checklist for villa owners in the United Arab Emirates sets out the questions to settle before a sauna, steam room, hammam or cold plunge is ordered, and a first LinkedIn post answers the questions that Dubai homeowners ask before they commit to a hot tub or plunge pool. On Quora, answers on steam generator sizing, Roman thermal rooms and sauna insulation appear under the Sauna Dekor profile with the credential "Managing Partner, Sauna Dekor Spa Solutions".
What does the Managing Partner of Sauna Dekor do?
As Managing Partner, Alican Aykaç speaks for a company of 19 employees that keeps design, manufacturing and installation under one roof. Sauna Dekor builds in its own facility in İkitelli OSB, Istanbul, and runs offices in 5 cities, so a hotel or villa client deals with one company from the first drawing to handover.
That structure is the reason the company can talk about details rather than catalogues. The timber cladding, benches, doors and control panels are made in Istanbul; the installation is carried out by Sauna Dekor's own teams travelling from Istanbul. The quality system is certified to TS EN ISO 9001:2015, certificate no. 202025106, issued by EKOL Belgelendirme for sauna and spa products manufacturing and after-sales services.
On hotel and residential spa projects Alican Aykaç is on site in person, from the design stage through to commissioning.
Which hotel projects has Sauna Dekor delivered?
Sauna Dekor's named hotel work includes 5 projects that can be cited publicly: Hilton Istanbul Maslak in 2017, Ritz-Carlton Istanbul in 2013, Hyatt Regency Izmir in 2023, the Diplomatic Club in Doha in 2022, and an ongoing spa consultancy for Sheraton Istanbul Bomonti. Private residential clients are never named.
- Hilton Istanbul Maslak (2017): spa and swimming pool.
- Ritz-Carlton Istanbul (2013).
- Hyatt Regency Izmir (2023).
- Diplomatic Club Doha (2022): spa and fitness areas.
- Sheraton Istanbul Bomonti: spa consultancy, ongoing.
What does Sauna Dekor make, and what does it buy in?
Sauna Dekor makes the rooms; it does not make the heaters or steam generators. Across 5,000+ projects, the Istanbul factory has produced the timber, glass and stone parts of each room, while heaters and steam generators come from EOS, Harvia and Condair. Their certificates belong to those equipment manufacturers.
The product range runs from commercial steam rooms and Turkish hammams to saunas, snow and salt rooms, cold plunge pools, swimming pools and complete thermal suites. For hotels, the work often starts earlier, at the hotel spa design stage, when room sizes, drainage falls and plant space are still open.
