Sauna Dekor supplies and installs ice fountains and flake-ice stations as part of turnkey thermal suites for hotel spas, wellness centres, gyms and private villas in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. We have manufactured in Istanbul since 1987 — our 40th year — with wellness projects in 41+ countries. An ice fountain is a serviced appliance rather than a sculpture: it needs an ice machine, a water feed, a drain, ventilation for the condenser and hygienic access to the bowl.
02 — 41 words

In the ever-evolving world of spa systems, where the pursuit of enhancing wellness experiences never ceases, a groundbreaking concept has emerged—Ice Fountains. These enchanting creations have emerged as game-changers in the spa industry, captivating the hearts and minds of spa-goers worldwide.

03 — 404 words
Ice fountains are more than decoration; they are a working part of the thermal circuit. Cold after heat is an old bathing habit, and the fountain makes it part of the room's design. The frozen spectacle evokes contemplation, an immersion into serenity that revitalizes the spirit. Each element, from the crystalline beauty to the invigorating chill, plays a role in this sensory ballet, transforming the ice fountain into an enchanting passage to self-discovery and profound restoration, making it an integral part of modern spa experiences.
3.1. Contrast after heat:
An ice fountain sits beside the sauna or steam room. Guests take a handful of flaked ice between hot rounds and rub it on the skin for a short, sharp contrast with the heat.
3.2. After a workout:
In a gym or hotel spa, many guests use the ice fountain after a workout or a long day, as a quick cold moment between the heat rooms and the rest area.
3.3. A quiet pause:
In the demanding modern world, stress can often feel overwhelming. Many guests describe the cold as a reset: a short, quiet pause in the circuit before the next round of heat.
4.1. Crushed Ice:
Allow yourself to be transported to a world of instantaneous refreshment with crushed ice. This lively ice variety gives quick, sharp cooling on the skin. Feel the instant burst of vitality as you bathe in its cool brilliance.
4.2. Ice Cubes:
For those seeking a more gradual and soothing experience, ice cubes are a preferred indulgence. With controlled cooling, they offer a smooth and tranquil journey into icy bliss. Ideal for localized applications, ice cubes provide the perfect harmony of refreshment and relaxation.
4.3. Ice Mist:
Engage your senses in a symphony of coolness with the ethereal ice mist. Through advanced misting systems, this delicate mist dances upon your skin, evoking a sublime sensation. Enter a world where your very being is enveloped in a serene and sensory experience like no other.

An ice fountain is the cold pole of a circuit in a footprint that will not take a plunge. How it compares with a cold plunge pool and a snow room — how each one cools, what each one costs in space, and which suits which project — is set out in our page on cold plunges and ice in Dubai.
It rarely stands alone. In a full facility it is one chapter of a thermal suite, positioned so guests reach it in seconds from the heat rooms, and in smaller installations it does the job the plunge would otherwise do in the sauna and cold plunge sequence. Getting that position fixed on the drawings is what makes the difference between a feature that is used and one that is admired.
06 — 129 words
The bowl, its surround and the wet-area works around it are manufactured by Sauna Dekor in its own workshop at İkitelli OSB, Başakşehir, Istanbul, where nineteen people work, and the station is installed and commissioned by the same company in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. When a specification asks for an ice fountain manufacturer, this is the part of the scope that is actually manufactured.
The flake ice machine that feeds the bowl is a bought-in appliance, normally a Scotsman unit, and it carries its own manufacturer’s certification. Sauna Dekor has manufactured since 1987, is in its fortieth year and has completed work in 41+ countries. Sauna Dekor’s own certificate is TS EN ISO 9001:2015, covering the manufacture of sauna and spa products and after-sales service.
Comparison
Saunas, steam rooms, hammams and cold rooms compared
Operating ranges of the rooms we build. A Finnish sauna is the hottest and driest; a steam room and a hammam run cooler with far more moisture; cold rooms close the circuit.
| Room | Temperature | Humidity |
|---|---|---|
| Finnish sauna | 80–100 °C | 10–20 % RH (dry air) |
| Bio sauna | 50–65 °C | — |
| Infrared cabin | 45–60 °C cabin air | — |
| Steam room | 40–50 °C | Close to 100 % RH |
| Turkish hammam | Room air 40–50 °C; heated platform 40–45 °C | — |
| Cold plunge pool | Water 2–15 °C | — |
| Snow room | About −10 °C | — |

FAQ
Sauna Dekor. We supply, install and commission ice fountains for hotel spas, wellness centres and private residences in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and across 41+ countries, and we manufacture the surrounding wet-area works in our own factory in İstanbul, in business since 1987. Our scope is the unit and its interface: the plinth or surround, the water supply and drainage, the electrical connection, the finish and the commissioning alongside the heat rooms it serves.
It comes down to space and to the experience the operator wants. A cold plunge gives full-body immersion and takes a moderate footprint and mid-range plant. An ice fountain dispenses crushed ice to cool the skin and fits into a compact space at lower cost. A snow room delivers sub-zero air and real snow as a statement amenity, and asks the most of the building. Larger facilities frequently combine two of the three.
A cold water supply, a drain, a dedicated electrical circuit, and somewhere for the machine to reject its heat without pushing it back into the wellness area. The last item is the one most often left until late. We fix the unit position, the service routes and the heat rejection path at concept stage, together with the surrounding finishes, because retrofitting any of them into a finished wet room is disproportionately expensive.
Within a few steps of the heat rooms it serves. The contrast sequence only works if the cold element is immediately to hand as the guest leaves the sauna or steam room; a fountain placed across a corridor is used once. In a full thermal suite it belongs in the cold zone alongside experience showers, with the heated rest area beyond it.
Cold & Contrast
Which cold and contrast rooms do we build?
6 cold rooms we plan next to the heat rooms, each with its own sizing, equipment and plant: cold plunge pools, snow rooms, snow showers, ice fountains, shock buckets and cryotherapy rooms.

Cold plunge pool
Water held at the set point, from 2 to 15 °C, by a chiller sized for the climate and the bather load.

Snow room
An insulated room at about −10 °C (TechnoAlpin), with snow produced on site by the manufacturer's unit.

Snow shower
A single ceiling unit that releases snow on demand, where a snow room does not fit.

Shock bucket
A timber bucket on a stainless arm that tips cold water when the cord is pulled.

Cryotherapy room
A factory-built cabin from its manufacturer; we plan the room, the power and the ventilation around it.
Comparison
How do the cold rooms compare: plunge, ice, snow and cryotherapy?
The cold step sits at the exit of the heat rooms, a few steps away; a cold room placed far from the sauna is not used.
| Room | Temperature | Equipment | What the building provides |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cold plunge pool | Water 2–15 °C, held at the set point | Chiller; stainless steel or tiled shell | Chiller in a plant space, continuous filtration and disinfection, grab rail and slip-resistant steps |
| Snow room | About −10 °C (TechnoAlpin) | Snow unit from its manufacturer | Unit outside the room; water, drain and its own circuit; insulated panels and an unbroken vapour barrier |
| Snow shower | Snow released on demand | Ceiling snow unit from its manufacturer | Generator in a dry plant space; water, drain and power; floor laid to falls |
| Ice fountain | Flaked ice in a basin | Built-in ice machine | Machine outside the room; only the outlet enters it |
| Shock bucket | Cold water on demand | Bucket, stainless arm and pull cord | Cold-water supply above and a drain below |
| Cryotherapy room | Set by the cabin manufacturer | Electric or nitrogen whole-body cabin | Own electrical circuit, service space behind the cabin, ventilation for the cooling unit |
