What is the difference between a jacuzzi and a hot tub?
Jacuzzi is a brand name that became the everyday word for any hydromassage tub. In the trade the product is a hot tub or spa: a self-contained shell with seats, jets, pumps, a heater, filtration and a control panel. A built-in hydromassage pool does the same job but is constructed in concrete or set into a larger pool, with its plant in a separate room.

Which hot tubs do we supply?
We supply and install Wellis hot tubs and swim spas, made by the European manufacturer Wellis. The shells, pumps, heaters and controls are Wellis products and carry the manufacturer's warranty; we handle the site survey, delivery, placement, connection and handover. See our Wellis range.

When is a built-in hydromassage pool the better choice?
When the tub has to follow the architecture: a custom shape, a tiled or stone finish, a step-in edge flush with the floor, or a larger capacity than a shell offers. A built-in pool needs a structural slab, waterproofing, a balance tank or skimmer, filtration, dosing and its own plant room. We build these as part of a hydrotherapy pool or spa scope.

What does a hot tub need from the site?
A level, load-bearing base sized for the filled weight, a clear access route for delivery, a dedicated electrical supply from a licensed electrician, a water supply for filling and a drain for emptying. Indoors it also needs ventilation or dehumidification, because the warm water surface releases moisture into the room.

How is the water kept clean?
By continuous filtration and disinfection sized to the number of bathers. Hotel and club tubs have higher bather loads, so their filters and dosing are specified for that use, and the water is tested and topped up on a schedule.
