A hydrotherapy pool is defined by its temperature, and the temperature is what makes the building around it difficult. Holding water at 33–35 °C changes the evaporation load, the air handling, the water treatment regime and the running cost, all at once. Sauna Dekor takes the pool, the plant room and the MEP interface as one scope for hotel spas, clinics and private villas in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, so the tank, the treatment set, the heating and the dehumidification are specified against each other rather than by four separate suppliers who meet for the first time on site.

Hall air is held 1–2 °C above the water. Dehumidification is sized from water surface area and temperature, never from room volume. Every cold bridge in the enclosure — glazing, structural steel, duct runs — becomes a condensation point and has to be reviewed before the pool size is fixed.
Tank construction and waterproofing; interior lining in ceramic, quartz aggregate or mosaic; jet layout and hydromassage hydraulics; circulation, filtration, disinfection and dosing; heating by electric heater or heat exchanger; plant room layout, access and load path; the dehumidification and air-handling interface for the pool hall; slip-resistant gradients and barefoot circulation; accessible entry, handrails and hoist provision; commissioning, operator training and the maintenance schedule. In a clinical project the pool is sized around therapist-to-patient ratios, accessible changing and infection control; in a hotel it is sized around the thermal circuit it sits inside.

We take the pool, the plant room and the MEP interface as one scope, so the tank, the treatment set, the heating and the dehumidification are specified against each other rather than by four separate suppliers.
A hydrotherapy pool is normally held at 33–35 °C and built 1.2–1.4 m deep — chest-deep for buoyancy, shallow enough for a therapist to stand and assist. A graded floor gives one pool several working depths. Air temperature in the hall is held 1–2 °C above the water, both for comfort and to control evaporation.
They share a temperature band and almost nothing else. A vitality pool at 34–36 °C is a spa feature: jets, loungers, bubble beds, relaxation. A hydrotherapy pool is built for supervised therapeutic exercise and needs standing depth, clear floor area, non-slip gradients, handrails on both sides and accessible entry, usually with a hoist position allowed for. If a physiotherapist will work in the water, the two are different buildings underneath.
Because evaporation rises steeply with water temperature. A pool held at 34 °C evaporates far faster than the same pool at 28 °C, and every gram of it goes into the air of an enclosed hall. Dehumidification is sized from water surface area and temperature, not from room volume. Size it like a normal indoor pool and you get condensation on every cold surface and, within a couple of years, corrosion in the structure above. A cover for unoccupied hours is the main lever on both evaporation and running cost.
Circulation and hydromassage pumps, filtration, disinfection and dosing, heating by electric heater or heat exchanger, and the dehumidification and air-handling plant for the hall. It has to be sized for the equipment and its maintenance access, positioned for the pool’s hydraulics and load path, and fixed at concept stage — a plant room found late is the most common reason a hydrotherapy pool is value-engineered out of a project.
Warm water with low bather turnover is a harder microbiological problem than a cool, busy pool. Turnover has to be shorter than a swimming pool’s, and the treatment regime specified for the temperature the pool will actually run at rather than a generic figure. In a clinical setting infection control drives the specification the way fire compliance drives a commercial spa.
