Portable Sauna Cabins

Short answer: A portable sauna is a ready-built cabin delivered assembled or in panels, so site work is short and the cabin can be moved later. Like any Finnish sauna it runs at 80–100 °C with low humidity. It needs a level floor, a dedicated electrical supply and fresh air in and out.

Scope

What should you know before buying a portable sauna?

01

What is a portable sauna?

A cabin built to a fixed size in our Istanbul facility and delivered either assembled or as numbered panels. Inside it is a normal sauna: timber lining, benches, a heater with stones and a control panel. Because it does not depend on the room it stands in, it can be placed in a home, on a terrace under cover or in a villa gym, and moved later if the owner relocates it.

02

Which timber and heater are used?

Our primary woods are ayous, thermo-ayous, aspen, thermo-aspen, low-resin pine and thermo-pine; hemlock, red cedar, alder and spruce are available on request. Heaters and controls come from their manufacturers, such as EOS and Harvia, and their certificates belong to those manufacturers. The heater is sized from the cabin volume, adding about 1.2 m³ for every square metre of glass, following Harvia; see sauna heater sizing.

03

What does the site need to provide?

A level, dry floor that carries the cabin's weight, a dedicated electrical circuit for the heater installed by a licensed electrician, and fresh air in low near the heater with air out on the opposite side. Outdoors the cabin needs a roof or cover and a base that keeps it off standing water.

04

How long does delivery and installation take?

A single sauna takes about 2 weeks from approved drawing to installation, depending on the scope. A cabin delivered assembled is placed and connected on site; a panel cabin is assembled by our team. The same cabin construction is described on our Finnish sauna page.

Operating ranges of the rooms we build. A Finnish sauna is the hottest and driest; a steam room and a hammam run cooler with far more moisture; cold rooms close the circuit.

Cross-section

What is a sauna wall made of?

A cabin is not a box but a five-layer structure. The layer that is left out decides how many years the cabin lasts.

01

Interior lining18 mm

Ayous or aspen boards. Both stay comfortable to touch at 90 °C and do not bleed resin.

02

Air gap20 mm

The breathing space left behind the lining. Without it, moisture is trapped behind the timber and the boards move within a few seasons.

03

Vapour barrier0.1 mm

Aluminium foil with taped joints. It stops moisture in the cabin from reaching the insulation; once it is punctured, the insulation stops working.

04

Insulation50 mm

Stone wool. It keeps the heat inside, and it is the layer that sets the heater output and the running cost.

05

Load-bearing frame45 × 70 mm

The cabin's own frame. It carries the bench loads and the heater weight and does not lean on the existing wall: the cabin is a separate structure.

Comparison

How do the sauna types differ in temperature, humidity and heat source?

The five sauna cabins we manufacture, side by side. Four of them share the Finnish construction; the infrared cabin is heated by emitters instead of stones.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What temperature does a portable sauna run at?

The same as a Finnish sauna: 80–100 °C with low humidity, raised briefly when water is thrown on the stones.

Can a portable sauna be moved?

Yes. A panel cabin can be dismantled and rebuilt; an assembled cabin can be lifted if the access route allows. The electrical supply has to be reconnected by a licensed electrician at the new position.

Which wood is a portable sauna made from?

Usually ayous, aspen or low-resin pine, or their thermo-treated versions; hemlock, red cedar, alder and spruce on request.

Can a portable sauna stand outdoors?

Yes, under a roof or cover and on a base that keeps it off standing water. The electrical supply and the fresh-air inlet are planned for the outdoor position before delivery.

Which warranty applies?

24 months on workmanship and manufacturing, 24 months manufacturer's warranty on electrical and mechanical equipment such as the heater, and 5 years on structure and waterproofing.
