The sauna price in Dubai is decided by a short list of drivers: room size, timber, heater and controls, glazing, ventilation, and the site works around the cabin. This page explains each driver and what a complete quote should list, so two quotes can be compared line by line.
Sauna Dekor Spa Solutions writes it from the manufacturing side. A sauna quote in Dubai is comparable only when it lists the same scope: cabin and timber, heater and controls, door and glass, ventilation, electrical connection, delivery, installation and warranty. Most price gaps between quotes come from items left out, not from the cabin itself.

We do not publish prices: a sauna is quoted as a scope, against your drawings, so every line is visible before anything is ordered.
What actually moves the price
Six things, roughly in order of impact.
Glass area. This is the biggest single driver and the one clients underestimate. A solid-walled cabin with a glass door is a different product from a cabin with a full glass front, and a panoramic three-sided glass cabin is different again. Glass costs more than timber, needs a bigger heater to compensate for the heat loss, and requires more careful framing. Going from a glass door to a full glass front can add thirty per cent.
Size — but less than you think. Doubling the floor area does not double the price. The heater, controls, door and installation labour do not scale linearly. A 4 m² cabin and a 6 m² cabin are much closer in price than their areas suggest.
Heater and control system. A 9 kW commercial-grade heater with a proper external control unit costs more than a domestic wall unit, and on a room that will be used daily it is not optional. See our comparison of the major heater brands for what the money buys.
In a health club the commercial heater is not a choice at all — the duty rating is the whole specification, as set out in the gym sauna guide.
Timber species and grade. Clear, knot-free grades cost meaningfully more than standard. Ayous costs more again. The visual difference is obvious at handover; the difference in how the room looks after five Dubai summers is larger.
Custom joinery. A cantilevered bench, a backrest detail matched to the adjoining bathroom, integrated lighting coves, a curved wall. Each is a joinery operation with no catalogue equivalent.
Scope of the MEP interface. Who does the electrical supply to the isolator, the drainage, the waterproofing, the floor falls? On a villa refurbishment these often sit with the main contractor. On a standalone installation they may fall to us, and they are real cost.
What is usually excluded, and catches people out
- Builder’s work. Wall preparation, screed, waterproofing membrane, drainage. Almost always someone else’s scope.
- Electrical supply to the isolator. We connect from the isolator; getting a suitable supply to it is an electrician’s job.
- Marble or tile to the wet areas adjoining the cabin.
- Cranage or difficult access. A penthouse with a small service lift changes the installation method and the price.
- Authority approvals where a building requires them.
- Maintenance after the warranty period.
When you compare two quotes and one is twenty per cent cheaper, the difference is usually in this list rather than in the cabin.
Cold plunge, steam and the rest
What decides the cost of the rooms most often added next to a sauna:
- Steam room, tiled, with a commercial generator and controls: the room size, the generator and the tile or mosaic finish set the cost.
- Cold plunge, engineered with chiller and filtration: a compact stainless unit costs less than a stone-clad built-in plunge in a designed niche, which also and needs the niche to be a sensible size — we have had to flag more than one drawing where the plunge recess was too small to actually sit in.
- Hammam or Moroccan bath, with heated bench and dome: a much wider range, driven almost entirely by the mosaic and marble specification. See our hammam page.
What a credible quote looks like
If a quotation does not state the following, you cannot compare it to anything:
- Internal cabin dimensions and height, not just “approx. 2 × 2”.
- Heater make, model and kW rating.
- Control system make and model, and whether it is external.
- Timber species and grade.
- Glass area and whether the glass is toughened, and its thickness.
- What installation includes, and who pays for what if the site is not ready.
- Warranty, split between heater, cabin and labour.
- Payment schedule.
- Lead time, split into manufacturing, shipping and installation.
Our own payment structure on project work is 20% on order, 20% on drawing approval, 55% before dispatch and 5% after commissioning. The final tranche matters: it is the money that is still on the table when the snag list gets written.
Does a sauna cost the same in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and the rest of the UAE?
The cabin costs the same wherever it goes in the UAE: it is made in the same Istanbul workshop, with the same timber, heater and door, and installed by the same team. What moves the total from one emirate to another is everything around the cabin. Delivery distance from Dubai and the days our installers spend on site are the first difference. The second is the building: a villa with a free circuit in the board and a ventilated wall costs less to connect than an apartment that needs a new supply and ducting through a shaft. The third is the approval route, which the owner or main contractor carries and which differs by emirate and community.
A quote that hides these items in one line looks cheaper and ends up costing more. Ask for delivery, installation days, electrical connection and ventilation as separate lines, whichever emirate the sauna is for.
Is it cheaper to import a sauna into Dubai yourself?
On paper sometimes, in practice rarely. A boxed cabin from Europe or China can look attractively priced, and then you add sea freight, customs duty and VAT, inland transport, an installer who has never seen that product, and no local warranty presence. When something fails in month fourteen, you own the problem.
Where direct import genuinely works is a straightforward domestic barrel or kit sauna for a villa garden, installed by the owner, where the stakes are low. For anything that a guest, a tenant or a client will use, local supply with a serviceable warranty is worth the extra cost.

Why do sauna quotes in the UAE vary so much?
Almost always scope, not margin. Glass area, heater grade, timber grade, and who carries the builder’s work and MEP interface account for most of the spread between two quotes for what looks like the same room.
What is the cheapest sensible sauna in Dubai?
A compact prefabricated cabin with a commercial-grade heater, installed, is the sensible entry point; its size and glazing set the cost. Below that you are into domestic-rated heaters, which are fine for occasional home use and unsuitable for daily use.
How long does a sauna installation take in Dubai?
Turnkey time depends on scope: about two weeks for a single sauna, and up to six months for large multi-room projects. For a custom room, manufacturing starts after drawing approval, and the on-site work is the shorter part of the programme; a prefabricated cabin held in stock can be faster.
Do I need approvals to install a sauna in Dubai?
For a sauna inside an existing villa or apartment, usually not beyond the building or community’s own fit-out approval. For hotels and commercial spas, expect a full material approval and authority submittal package.
Does the price include the electrical supply?
Almost never. Suppliers connect from an isolator provided by the electrical contractor; getting an adequate supply to that isolator is a separate cost and it is worth confirming the required load early.
Is a sauna cheaper in Sharjah or Ajman than in Dubai?
Not the cabin itself. A sauna for Sharjah, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah is made in the same Istanbul workshop and installed by the same team as one for Dubai; the price difference comes from delivery, site days, electrical connection and ventilation.
What should a sauna quote in the UAE list?
Cabin size and timber species, heater maker and model (EOS or Harvia), controls, door and glass, ventilation, electrical connection, delivery and installation, plus the warranty split by scope: 24 months on workmanship and manufacturing, 24 months manufacturer’s warranty on equipment, 5 years on structure and waterproofing.
