Who installs saunas and steam rooms in Kuwait?
Sauna Dekor designs, manufactures and installs them. We are a Turkish manufacturer and turnkey spa contractor, established in 1987, now in our 40th year, delivered in more than 35 countries. Cabins, hammam marble and mosaic wet rooms are produced in our own Istanbul facility, shipped to Kuwait as numbered modules and installed and commissioned by our own supervisors and crews.
Is Sauna Dekor a sauna manufacturer in Kuwait, or an importer?
A manufacturer. Cabins, benches, hammam marble and mosaic wet rooms are produced in our own Istanbul workshops, crated as numbered modules and installed in Kuwait by our own supervisors and crews. What we do not manufacture — heaters, controls and steam generators — is bought in from its European manufacturers, EOS, Sentiotec and Condair among them, and their certification travels with it into the submittal. We are not registered in Kuwait and keep no resident crew there: we manufacture for the Kuwait market and mobilise from Istanbul and Dubai.
Do you have an office or a local phone number in Kuwait?
No. We do not operate a Kuwait office and we do not publish a Kuwait line. Enquiries are handled from Istanbul, where the manufacturing is, and from our Gulf office in Dubai, with survey, installation and commissioning visits by appointment. Where a project needs continuous local presence during construction, we work under the main or fit-out contractor already mobilised on site.
What certification do your saunas and steam rooms carry?
Two separate things, and we keep them separate. Our own company certification is TS EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management, scoped to sauna and spa product manufacturing and after-sales service. The equipment we install carries CE / EN 60335, TÜV, GS and VDI 6022 certification issued to its manufacturers — EOS, Sentiotec and Condair among them. Both sets go into the submittal.
How is imported sauna and steam equipment cleared into Kuwait?
Under the Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme, run by the Public Authority for Industry, electrical appliances are a regulated category and need two documents issued before shipment by a PAI-approved body: a Technical Evaluation Report for the product and a Technical Inspection Report for the consignment. Customs requires both, so we close the conformity file before the container leaves Türkiye. The importer of record on the bill of lading must be Kuwaiti.
How does Kuwait's climate change what you specify?
Mainly through the plant. ASHRAE's 0.4% design dry-bulb at Kuwait International is 48.1 °C — about four kelvin above Doha — while the design wet-bulb, 28.4 °C, is lower than Doha's. So chillers and condensers are selected on dry-bulb, not humidity, and the ministry specification requires equipment rated for a 55 °C plant-room ambient. Supply is 415 V, not 400 V, which changes heater element sizing.
Do you work for main contractors in Kuwait, or only direct?
Both. On a hotel, resort or members'-club project we work as the specialist thermal and wet subcontractor under the main contract, and can also act as spa design subconsultant to the design team. On a villa we work directly for the client or alongside the interior contractor. The scope is identical either way: drawings, manufacture, installation, commissioning and after-sales.
