What the EOS EmoTec is

EmoTec gives the same set of functions as EmoStyle through a jog-dial interface: a single rotary knob moves through the menu, which makes it easy to use even with wet hands. The panel measures 127 × 130 × 25 mm and is flush-mounted; it can be run up to 100 m away from the sauna. The relay box is separate, 270 × 300 × 100 mm, and wall-mounted. The display is a colour TFT, with the menu in 19 languages. It switches 10 kW directly, and anything above that goes through a PEB. The H version has humidity control: ten time-proportional steps, or relative humidity with the optional sensor, with a 3 kW evaporator output and dry-running detection included. The weekly programme allows four settings a day. The digital sensor comes with 5 m of cable.

Selection

How we find the right capacity

We work out the capacity from the cabin volume; the five steps below are done together at the quotation stage.

Start with the cabin volume

Basic rule: cabin volume (m³) × 1 kW. A 2 × 2 × 2.10 m cabin is 8.4 m³ and needs about 9 kW. This figure is a starting point, not the answer.

Add glass and uninsulated surfaces

Add 1.2 m³ to the volume for every m² of glass front, and about 1.2 m³ for every m² of uninsulated concrete or stone. In a cabin with a full glass front, the real requirement is thirty to forty percent above the bare volume.

Agree the power supply early

Above 9 kW a 400 V three-phase supply is required; for lower outputs the phase is chosen according to the heater's installation manual. The heater is fed on its own circuit, with its own fuse and residual current device.

State the usage intensity

A home cabin used two hours a day and a hotel cabin open for ten hours cannot use the same unit. For commercial use, heavy-duty (HD) units and a larger stone mass are chosen.

Choose the control together with the heater

The power a control unit can switch directly is limited; above that, a PEB power boost unit is needed. This is calculated at the quotation stage.

Modular control

Sauna, hammam, steam and infrared modules plug into the EmoTouch 3 unit. Four rooms are run from one panel, with no separate switchboard.

With the KNX and Modbus module it connects to the hotel management system, and opening hours can be programmed centrally.

Safety as a separate line

Door contact, emergency button, heater guard and EOSafe are available as separate products. In a commercial facility they are not optional.
