Olympus Life — hot tub

Wellis

Short answer: Olympus Life is a hot tub made by Wellis in Hungary. Sauna Dekor supplies and installs it in the villas and hotels we build; the product and its certificates are the manufacturer's.

The largest hot tub in the catalogue: nine people, 88 lit jets, 2,331 litres. A structural load calculation is essential.

Model note

What the Olympus Life is

The largest hot tub in the catalogue: a 354 × 230 × 98 cm body with a nine-person layout — two loungers and seven seats. 88 illuminated jets, four pumps (two 2 HP and two 3 HP) and a 3 kW heater. Water volume is 2,331 litres and the empty shell weighs 900 kg; filled, that means a load of over three tonnes, which makes a structural check obligatory. Minimum supply is 1 × 40 A 230 V, with 3 × 16 A 400 V recommended. The 354 cm length also means transport and crane access must be planned from the outset — it will not go through a doorway.

Technology

What is inside the unit

Equipment differs between series; the headings below are Wellis's own systems.

01

LIFE Scandinavian insulation

Full-fill insulation between the body and the panels. Instead of running continuously, the heater switches on only as much as needed to hold the temperature; in winter the difference shows on the energy bill.

02

W-EC circulation pump

Energy-saving continuous circulation. The water does not stand still, so the filter and disinfectant work as intended.

03

WellisGuard water management

A water treatment package that combines the filter cartridge, ozone and UV in one system. It reduces chemical consumption.

04

SmartTouch control

Touch panel; temperature, filtration times and jet groups from one screen. A weekly programme can be set.

05

MyMusic 2.0 sound system

Bluetooth speakers built into the unit. No separate cabling or external device needed.

06

LED colour lighting

The underwater and rim lighting changes colour. In the evening, this is what sets the atmosphere.

07

Poli-Max shell reinforcement

Polyurethane reinforcement behind the acrylic shell. The shell carries the load and does not sag over time.

08

Smart-In Step

A 3 kW heat pump fits under the step. Running costs fall without taking up extra space.

Installation

Before installation

A hot tub is not just an appliance; it is a load on the structure. All four points are discussed at the site survey.

01

Structural load

A filled hot tub, with water and bathers, weighs three times its own weight. For large units such as the Olympus Life on a terrace or roof, a structural calculation is carried out; if the slab is not reinforced concrete, strengthening is needed. This check is done BEFORE installation.

02

Electrical

Plug & Play models run from a 230 V socket. All others need their own circuit, their own breaker and a residual current device; for models rated 32 A and above, a 400 V three-phase supply is recommended. The distance to the distribution board is asked at quotation stage.

03

Water and drainage

The fill line and drain point are planned close to the unit. In a built-in installation, at least one long side is left as a service hatch; otherwise the surrounding cladding has to be removed at the first fault.

04

Positioning

Large units are lowered by crane. The access route, door widths and manoeuvring space are measured at the site survey — this is the most common problem on site.
