Sauna, steam rooms and treatment rooms at Dreamland Golf Club, Baku
Sauna Dekor designs, manufactures and installs saunas, hammams and steam rooms as a single contractor. The company was founded in 1987, is now in its 40th year, and works from its own production plant in İkitelli, Istanbul, with completed thermal areas in over 35 countries.

Scope of work: the sauna cabin, steam rooms and treatment rooms
A club spa built around recovery rather than around a bathing ritual: dry heat, steam,somewhere to lie down and treatment rooms, arranged so a member coming off the course can movethrough the sequence without crossing the arrival route. The package covered room build-up andtanking, finishes, the sauna cabin with heater and control, the steam enclosures andgenerators, ventilation terminals, drainage and commissioning.
A recovery sequence, not a bathing circuit
The difference matters in planning. A hotel spa is used slowly across the day; a golf clubspa fills in sharp peaks as groups finish, and it is used by people who have been outdoors forhours. That argues for more capacity in the dry cabin than a floor-area calculation would give,for showers immediately adjacent rather than across a corridor, and for a relaxation area thatseats a whole group rather than two people. It also argues for equipment that recovers quickly:generators and heaters are chosen with reserve, because the busiest half hour of the day is theonly one members will judge. Sizing the Finnish sauna and the steam rooms for club duty
General practice sizes a cabin at roughly a kilowatt of stone-heater output per cubic metreof volume, with additions for glazing and for masonry surfaces, and a steam enclosure on volumewith a correction for the finish material plus headroom for door openings. For club duty theheater is a commercial unit with serviceable elements, the control cabinet sits outside thecabin on a timer with a maximum setpoint, and benching is built in liftable sections so adamaged bench top is a replacement rather than a rebuild. Air zoning, tanking and the treatment rooms
Sauna: supply low at the heater, extract low diagonally opposite. Steam rooms: continuousextract that runs on past closing so the enclosures dry down overnight. Relaxation and massagerooms: kept dry, quiet and slightly positive against the wet circuit, and acousticallyseparated from plant — a treatment room that can hear a generator is a treatment room the clubwill stop selling. All wet rooms were tanked before finishes, with a bonded membrane over thescreed, reinforcing tape into corners, movement joints and penetrations, falls in the screedand epoxy grout in the permanently wet zones.
What we solved on site
Baku’s climate is hot and dry in summer and cold and windy in winter, with a Caspiancoastline that puts salt in the air. Rather than take make-up air for the thermal roomsstraight from outside, we drew it from the conditioned interior, which keeps the cabin timberstable across a large annual swing and keeps salt away from the ironmongery.
