It rarely stands alone. In a full facility it is one chapter of a thermal suite, positioned so guests reach it in seconds from the heat rooms, and in smaller installations it does the job the plunge would otherwise do in the sauna and cold plunge sequence. Getting that position fixed on the drawings is what makes the difference between a feature that is used and one that is admired.
Who manufactures a spa ice fountain, and which part comes from where
The bowl, its surround and the wet-area works around it are manufactured by Sauna Dekor in its own workshop at İkitelli OSB, Başakşehir, Istanbul, where nineteen people work, and the station is installed and commissioned by the same company in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. When a specification asks for an ice fountain manufacturer, this is the part of the scope that is actually manufactured.
The flake ice machine that feeds the bowl is a bought-in appliance, normally a Scotsman unit, and it carries its own manufacturer’s certification. Sauna Dekor has manufactured since 1987, is in its fortieth year and has completed work in more than 35 countries. Sauna Dekor’s own certificate is TS EN ISO 9001:2015, covering the manufacture of sauna and spa products and after-sales service.

Cold plunge, ice fountain or snow room — which suits a given project?
It comes down to space and to the experience the operator wants. A cold plunge gives full-body immersion and takes a moderate footprint and mid-range plant. An ice fountain dispenses crushed ice to cool the skin and fits into a compact space at lower cost. A snow room delivers sub-zero air and real snow as a statement amenity, and asks the most of the building. Larger facilities frequently combine two of the three.
What does an ice fountain need from the building?
A cold water supply, a drain, a dedicated electrical circuit, and somewhere for the machine to reject its heat without pushing it back into the wellness area. The last item is the one most often left until late. We fix the unit position, the service routes and the heat rejection path at concept stage, together with the surrounding finishes, because retrofitting any of them into a finished wet room is disproportionately expensive.
Where should an ice fountain sit in a spa layout?
Within a few steps of the heat rooms it serves. The contrast sequence only works if the cold element is immediately to hand as the guest leaves the sauna or steam room; a fountain placed across a corridor is used once. In a full thermal suite it belongs in the cold zone alongside experience showers, with the heated rest area beyond it.
